ProsperUS Coalition Speaks Out Following House Vote on Debt Limit Bill

Following the House passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act tonight, Claire Guzdar, spokesperson for the 80+ member ProsperUS coalition, shared the following statement:

“While averting catastrophic default is a necessity, the bill is a clear step backwards for our economy. It cuts investments in workers and families and pushes older Americans into poverty – all while protecting the wealthy and biggest corporations.”

“There is nothing fiscally responsible about a bill that sacrifices workers and families’ economic well-being in return for Congress doing its most basic job: paying its bills.”
